What is kept in your browser, why it is there, and how to clear it.

This page is with us for review, so it does not carry an effective date yet. It describes how Bubs Daily works today, and it will be dated once the review is done.

The short version

Bubs Daily does not use cookies to advertise to you or to follow you around other websites. There are no advertising networks, no third-party analytics and no social tracking pixels in the app.

What the app does use is your browser’s local storage: a handful of small settings that stay on your device so the app opens the way you left it.

What is stored on your device

  • babynest.remindersYour reminder settings — which nudges you have switched on, and the intervals.
  • babynest.active_babyWhich baby is selected, so the app opens on the right one.
  • babynest.unitsWhether you use kg and cm or lb and in.
  • babynest.lastBreastSideThe side you fed from last, so the breastfeed sheet opens on the other one.
  • babynest.lastBottleMilkThe milk type you chose last, so the bottle sheet opens on it.
  • babynest.timer.…A feed, sleep or pumping timer you have started and not yet saved — when it began and, for a feed, which side — so it is still running if the app is closed or the phone restarts. Removed when you save or discard it.
  • babynest.offlineEntries you saved without signal — the feed, nappy, sleep or note itself — kept on your phone until it reaches the server, then removed. This one lives in the browser’s IndexedDB rather than local storage.
  • themeLight, dark or follow the phone. Read before the first paint so a night-time open does not flash a bright screen.
  • babynest.theme_modeWhich appearance you picked — light, dark, follow the phone, or dark at night. Only this device reads it; the clock check happens on the phone, not on a server.
  • base44_…Sign-in details held by the platform, including the token that keeps you signed in.
  • babynest.home_screen_promptThat you have closed the “save to your home screen” card, so it is not shown to you again on this device.

None of this is shared with anyone. It never leaves your browser except for the sign-in token, which is sent to our platform to prove the request is yours.

Cookies proper

Depending on how you sign in, the platform behind Bubs Daily may hold your session in a cookie on this site rather than as a token in local storage. That cookie is strictly necessary: without it you could not stay signed in. It is not used for measurement or advertising.

Counting page views

The live site records the first part of the address of each page you open — that you were on the growth section, for example — so we can see which parts of the app get used. It is sent to our own platform, not to an analytics company, and it does not include anything you have logged.

Why there is no cookie banner

A banner asks your permission for things that need permission. Nothing here is used for advertising or for measurement by a third party, and the only cookie in play is the one that keeps you signed in, which UK rules treat as strictly necessary. Putting a consent box in front of a tired parent for no reason would be theatre.

If that changes, the banner arrives with it, and it will be one line.

Clearing it

Every browser lets you clear site data from its settings, and clearing it here signs you out and forgets your units, your selected baby, your theme and the last side and milk type you used.

It does not delete anything you have logged. Your entries are held on our servers, and they are still there when you sign back in. To have them deleted, see deleting your account and data.
